
The flagship publication of the organization is the WiE Index, which captures and examines the representation of women in senior roles within the economics profession, both in the academic sector and the corporate sector, as well as the state sector. The report can be a valuable piece of evidence-based information to the policymakers, researchers, and institutions interested in improving gender equity in the given field.
The chosen volunteers will be engaged in the work of a small, cooperative research team that will contribute to the different phases of report preparation and will be published in the second half of 2026. Tasks will involve data collection, validation, and analysis; preparation of visualizations using programs such as STATA and Excel; and assistance in the drafting and review of the final report. The participants can also assist in the research methods refining and building data automation procedures.
Applications are unrestricted to persons with diverse academic and professional experiences. Although previous technical knowledge is not essential, the applicants are expected to have excellent written communication skills, interest in empirical research, and dedication to gender equality in economics. An advanced level of proficiency in English is required.
This position is especially suited to students, early-career researchers, and professionals, especially those based in the Global South, who want to acquire a practical research design, data analysis, and policy-focused reporting experience. Alongside practical experience throughout the research life cycle, the participants will enjoy training sessions, networking, and possibly input into the related materials, including articles, podcasts, and expert discussions. It is also possible to acknowledge the contributors in a formal way, and this can either be as a co-author of the final report
